End of rugby season blues

Can't believe another year of rugby is over. It's been a decent season- Hurricanes didn't perform as well as I'd like but All Blacks baby, only one loss!

Shout out numero uno to Jerome Kaino- easily the ABs best on the EOYT.

Special shout out to Samoa and Fiji for showing good promise on the cusp of a RWC year- Samoa narrowly losing to Scotland in the last minutes of their match and Fiji with an upset win over Wales. People underestimate these results- Samoa has a population of less than 180,000 and Fiji less than 900,000. They faced countries like England (50 million), Scotland (5 million), Wales (3 million) etc and held their own. That's what's up!

Dear Auckland, I miss you.

Can't believe that it has been almost a year since my 6 week trip to Auckland! I miss the place so much, its got this really cool vibe. I miss the nightlife (RnB lover heaven!) but most of all I miss all my wonderful family who drove me everywhere, who fed me (and subsequently made me gain 5 kilos) and always made sure I was enjoying my time. Here are a few random pictures- please note I am in no way a photographer, nor do I have any idea how to use my camera properly!

Emirates breakfast was... surprising

Sakebar Nippon in Epsom- definitely recommend!

Auckland Sky Tower

NZ McDonald's is better. This is the Boss burger, and they serve bagels for breakfast!

Daily dip in the pool

Coming from Wollongong, home of clean, white sandy beaches... this was different.

My awesome car photography- Auckland city.

The boys with CC and Dry, myself with malibu and pineapple of course.

The Lounge Bar. Dig it.

Drunken me: 'POLICE TEN 7!!!!!'

Just casually hanging off Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Embracing Maori culture.

Rainbow's End theme park.

It's the biggest in NZ, meaning its the size of Movie World's carpark

End of the sporting year

So early Sunday morning will mark the end of the sporting year, for me anyway. Sure the ashes has just started but... meh. Cricket does very little for me. I prefer to see grunting as players necks crunch against each other in the front row. I'd rather see training sessions involving Liam Messam boxing SBW. I just get more excitement from skilled wingers placing the ball down swiftly in the corner as they get hammered by 5 opposing bodies into the corner post than I'll ever get from some guy in white catching a little red ball. In short, I love rugby.

I'll miss Ma'a and SBW sharing their earphones and doing their little handshakes before they break through the opposition's defensive line.

Oh I'll miss seeing the Fainga'a twins getting interviewed with their cute smiles and dimples and 'it's a great honour' responses.
Dear scrum grunts- I'll miss you! Have a good break, see you in Feb for the start of the Super 15 season ;)

It's not that long a break... fingers crossed I'll survive.

Come here rude boy

Rude Boy is definitely in my 'this is my ultimate JAAAAMMM' list, both in terms of the song itself but also the video. Riri's just got this swag in this video that I love. It definitely changed my views on animal prints- I was a hater until I saw her shaking next to that zebra. Dig it.

Five favourite things of the moment

Because everyone loves things.

THING 1- Food
Peanut Butter Cups

If you haven't tried a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup- kill yourself. No, not really, but seriously WHY NOT? They're actually one of my favourite foods EVER, but I've mentioned them as 'of the moment' because my local video store has started to sell them, with an opening special of $2. WHUTTTTT.  If you're an Aussie with a Peanut Butter Cup craving, check out sugarfix.com.au and you can purchase motherloads.

THING 2- SONG

image from coverlandia.blogspot.com

So what, he's an Australian Idol contestant. He won the 2009 comp easy breezy- voice is PHENOM. This song is one of those where you find it really catchy so you jump on the internet and search the lyrics and then when you learn the lyrics and spit them out effortlessly you feel like a BEAST. y'know, one of those types?

THING 3- BEAUTY PRODUCT
Dove Summer Glow Beauty Body Lotion in Medium to Dark Skin

Despite being blessed with Polynesian skin- or 'toasted brown' as my friends say- I feel as though winter and my habit to constantly wear pants in public has made my legs gross and pasty. Yes, brown pasty does exist and it sucks. So glad they've brought out a version for darker skin as the last one I tried (I think Johnson's Holiday skin?) made me look a different kind of dark- more orangey? It works really well though- by the 3rd day after applying it twice a day, my legs are noticably more tanned and it's got great coverage- no splotchy areas or anything. DIG.

THING 4- MOVIE/TV SHOW
Hot Tub Time Machine

My family aren't big on films that are serious. Dramas, horrors, action and romance flicks are often overlooked because we are comedy people. The dumber the better. This movie fit right into our liking.

THING 5- WHATEVER THE FLIP YOU WANT
Not having eczema

I wish I was celebrating actually not having eczema however my favourite thing right now would be to not be suffering right now. Spring in Australia (well anytime in Australia really) has really crazy weather patterns as the seasons here slowly change to summer and when this happens my eczema flares up like crazy. My steroid creams have run out and I've been too lazy to go to the doctor but I think I'm at the end of my straw... it's so itchy and ugly at the moment, tomorrow I will definitely be going to the doctor. Eczema, be gone!

Summerbeaaatz!

SUMMERBEATZ- yessir, I was lucky enough to attend on Saturday. For those who don't know, its a massive urban music concert. We had jive pit tickets, very front of the mosh! Artist line up was (in order of performance) Stan Walker, Ja Rule, Travie McCoy, Ciara, Flo Rida and Akon. Jay Sean was also set to perform but unfortunately his grandfather passed away. It was a great night anyway- Israel also came on and performed with Stan and Git Fresh (the guys who sing 'when the beat go like that boom boom'... you know the one!) came on with Flo Rida and sung and shot water/champagne onto us. Also got to grab Akon's hand!!! Felt like a little kid there in the mosh going nuts. Here are a few pics- sorry about the quality, camera is broken so had to depend on my crappy phone camera.

My sister and I before heading up.

With my sister again at the front of the jive pit.

Stan Walker. Voice is just... amazing.

Ja Rule. Wasn't that keen on seeing him but he was one of the best performers of the night.

UNF. Ciara right in front of me :O Banging body, amazing dancer. Love her.

Fist pump!

WORLD AND FOUR NATIONS CHAMPIONS

Best of all, a Billy Slater screw up helped us to this win as well!

xx

Recent purchases

Thanks to lots of shifts recently I've been getting paid a lot more than usual. Unfortunately/fortunately I've been able to spend more online, here's some of the things I've bought over the last week.

1) 'I Love Milk and Honey' Glimmer tank top
incityfashion.com.au, $29.95

I got this top last Friday after ordering late Wednesday so thumbs up to this store for postage. The top itself is simple but dressy and the sequin area is actually more colourful than the photo suggests- more pink and blue tones with the silver. Dig it.

2) 'Vero Moda' Chiffon sleeve dress
asos.com, £22.00

I made my first ever asos order! I've been constantly browsing the site for the past two years but have been put off by the British pounds and postage, but with my friend getting married next month I figured it would be a good excuse to spend some money. Now I get to search for shoes! (and a slip...)

3) 'Supre' Small roses printed zipper front singlet
supre.com.au, $10

I haven't bought anything from Supre in years (except maybe a pair of black tights for yoga) but I've been hearing that they've really started to change their image and that the quality of their garments have improved. With the encouragement of free postage I decided to pick up a few things, with colour in mind as my wardrobe is noticeably dark.

4) 'Supre' Strawberry strappy racer back dress
supre.com.au, $10

Friend who is getting married next month is having her Hens day this sunday with a pink theme so I bought this as I really do have nothing decent and pink in my wardrobe. Hopefully it's a little bigger on me than it is on this model though. Fingers crossed I get it before Sunday :)

5) Gold Class Harry Potter 7.1 tickets!
My friends and I have a tradition to go to gold class screenings for the Harry Potter films and we'll catch a screening next Wednesday. The inner Harry Potter nerd in me wanted to go to the midnight screening however my friends were busy :( At least I'm saving a few dollars on my ticket.

Might post some pictures when I receive everything.
Have a good one
