Kick start

I <3 SNEAKERS

(Pauly D voice) It's Christ-mas tiiiiiiime

Christmas is so close! No longer is it around the corner, it's more as if we're on the same street only a few steps away. I thought I'd give a list of what I've already got and what I plan on buying within the next few days for my family this year.

Dad

The bad thing about having a father who loves golf is that he's more likely to play his 4th game for the week than he is to attend your netball game. The good thing about having a father who loves golf is that every Christmas, birthday and Father's Day there is always something golf related that he would appreciate. Dad's current golf shoes have a massive hole in them so I bought him two pairs, one black and one similar to those pictured above.

Mum

Mum is a history nut, particularly for the Pacific genre. She collects all types of books about Samoans especially, this one is a massive photo journal about Samoans living throughout the world- from Samoa to Japan- with a small biography detailing the lives of each. It's a bit dated but Mum will appreciate it. I'm also planning on getting a massive collage picture frame and filling it with recent and old photos of all us and our family overseas.

Ideally I'd like to buy something like this ^ but my lack of organisation and the small range available in Wollongong will mean I will most probably have to settle with something closer to this below.

Sister #1- 15yo

I am buying Supafest tickets for us both on Wednesday, in the Bling Ring hopefully. If you've read my earlier posts you'll see that we attended Summerbeatz which was an event by the same promoter and as soon as we saw the signs for this at Summerbeatz we said 'We're going!'. They've announced 4 of the 8 artists and so far so VERY good! Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Taio Cruz and Bow Wow. Rumours are Nicki and Drizzy are also coming... drool!

Sister #2- 13 yo

Sister number two wanted clothes, summer basics really, so I told her to come to choose a few items on Supre. No surprise on Christmas day, I know, but its better than her complaining. A few of the things she chose were:

Brother- 12 yo

So far all I've got for him is a Call of Duty: Black Ops tee from Jay Jays. I got him a white one with a decent design so that he can wear it without looking like a game freak that wears the same clothes for a week straight. He wants some kicks so he can look cool when he starts high school next year but I'll probably wait until it gets closer to 'back to school' period before I buy those as his feet grow at abnormal rates.

14 year old me rejoices

As Danny Weidler announces SBW is once again single.

Nothing against his ex though- she was never all 'I'm dating the sexiest guy eveeerrrrr' or showy or anything like those annoying WAGS so props to her.

End of rugby season blues

Can't believe another year of rugby is over. It's been a decent season- Hurricanes didn't perform as well as I'd like but All Blacks baby, only one loss!

Shout out numero uno to Jerome Kaino- easily the ABs best on the EOYT.

Special shout out to Samoa and Fiji for showing good promise on the cusp of a RWC year- Samoa narrowly losing to Scotland in the last minutes of their match and Fiji with an upset win over Wales. People underestimate these results- Samoa has a population of less than 180,000 and Fiji less than 900,000. They faced countries like England (50 million), Scotland (5 million), Wales (3 million) etc and held their own. That's what's up!

Dear Auckland, I miss you.

Can't believe that it has been almost a year since my 6 week trip to Auckland! I miss the place so much, its got this really cool vibe. I miss the nightlife (RnB lover heaven!) but most of all I miss all my wonderful family who drove me everywhere, who fed me (and subsequently made me gain 5 kilos) and always made sure I was enjoying my time. Here are a few random pictures- please note I am in no way a photographer, nor do I have any idea how to use my camera properly!

Emirates breakfast was... surprising

Sakebar Nippon in Epsom- definitely recommend!

Auckland Sky Tower

NZ McDonald's is better. This is the Boss burger, and they serve bagels for breakfast!

Daily dip in the pool

Coming from Wollongong, home of clean, white sandy beaches... this was different.

My awesome car photography- Auckland city.

The boys with CC and Dry, myself with malibu and pineapple of course.

The Lounge Bar. Dig it.

Drunken me: 'POLICE TEN 7!!!!!'

Just casually hanging off Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Embracing Maori culture.

Rainbow's End theme park.

It's the biggest in NZ, meaning its the size of Movie World's carpark

End of the sporting year

So early Sunday morning will mark the end of the sporting year, for me anyway. Sure the ashes has just started but... meh. Cricket does very little for me. I prefer to see grunting as players necks crunch against each other in the front row. I'd rather see training sessions involving Liam Messam boxing SBW. I just get more excitement from skilled wingers placing the ball down swiftly in the corner as they get hammered by 5 opposing bodies into the corner post than I'll ever get from some guy in white catching a little red ball. In short, I love rugby.

I'll miss Ma'a and SBW sharing their earphones and doing their little handshakes before they break through the opposition's defensive line.

Oh I'll miss seeing the Fainga'a twins getting interviewed with their cute smiles and dimples and 'it's a great honour' responses.
Dear scrum grunts- I'll miss you! Have a good break, see you in Feb for the start of the Super 15 season ;)

It's not that long a break... fingers crossed I'll survive.
